Alika Nako’oka is an accomplished Hawaiian singer, songwriter, and recording artist with over 30 years of entertaining experience.
He was born on the island of Maui and grew up with the “Island Sounds” of Hawaii, songs of C&K, The Brothers Cazamero, Kapena and, of course, his Uncle Jesse.
He was later influenced by artists like George Michael, Smokey Robinson, Michael Jackson, and Marvin Gaye.
He has shared the stage with many of Hawaii’s top entertainers, recorded with Grammy award-winning artists, and performed with legendary artists Ray
Charles, Bill Medley, and Chubby Checker.
He began singing at a young age, performing at various events with his family throughout the Hawaiian Islands and Pacific Northwest.
Later, he also played venues in Los Angeles, Seattle and Las Vegas.
In 1993, he moved to Seattle and had worked steadily as a professional entertainer for many years.
In July of 2005, Alika opened for a Melveen Leed Christmas concert in Seattle, and in August of 2009, he opened for Keahi Conjugacion and The Makaha Sons at the Kalama Heritage Festival in Kalama Washington.
Alika had a very successful tour in 2010 of the Mainland and the Hawaiian Islands, where he performed for live audiences and did televised segments on ABC’s KITV4 to promote his 2010 Hawaiian Music award nominated CD “Promise Me This”.
He comes from a history of popular Hawaiian entertainers such as his father, Alika Sr. and his uncles Jesse, and William “Smiley” Nako’oka.
Jesse was famous for his long running Luau show at the Maui Lu resort on the island of Maui. In the late 1960’s to the mid 1980’s, he had a string of best selling albums which included hits such as “54 Bridges to Hana Town” and “The Maui Waltz”.
After meeting Alika and hearing his voice, you’ll know you’ve encountered something of lasting significance.
Alika is a family man, an avid sports fan, and a strong supporter of The Shane Victorino Foundation. He performs annually for Shane and Melissa at the Celebrity Dinner and Golf Classic held at the Four Seasons Resort every year in Wailea, Maui.
Alika is endorsed by MELE Ukuleles, and plays a beautiful custom made Koa electric/acoustic MELE 8-string jumbo tenor uke, an Ovation guitar, and a Korg Triton keyboard.
Alika is currently working on his next music album which is expected to be
released in 2018 with a tour of the west coast to follow.
